Right after Selene had become the Goddess of Moonlight, joining the moon itself reflecting her light upon her beloved and her children of the night, Ambrogio was allowed to create more beings like himself.
Beings that held the very same abilities given to him by Artemis, the Goddess of Hunt. Gaining God-like speed and strength, and the fangs of a powerful hunter, to become a great hunter just like Artemis herself.
The very first “vampire” created, was Cain.
Since Cain was the very first vampire after Ambrogio, he has specific advantages since the blood has yet to be diluted over time, being the more pure than younger vampires that roam the Earth today that carry the same mixed blood as Ambrogio and Selene.
However, this also means that the curses put upon Ambrogio are also more effective; meaning the sun’s harmful rays and all types of silver will burn excruciatingly, weaken him, and can also be exceedingly fatal.
Cain’s soul also now belongs to Hades, forever becoming damned to the Underworld when the time comes for his soul to be collected; just as any other soul that carries the same blood of Ambrogio and Selene.
When one receives power and immortality, there must always be a price of equal value.
For many centuries, Cain thoroughly enjoyed his profound new abilities given to him by Ambrogio, his new father that had so graciously taken him as his own; Selene, the Moon, now his beloved mother.
However, Cain had eventually grown bored being so solus Ambrogio was always so preoccupied with keeping Artemis appeased by leaving offerings of swans at her grand temple in Ephesus…
He felt so...alone.
That’s when the idea of making another being such as himself came to thought. To damn another soul to Hades for his own selfish needs, to forever have a companion to call his own.
However, he wouldn’t just simply ‘create’ another vampire at random without putting any thought into his actions; the very idea came to his mind to create a prodigy on the night of a Matoméno Fengári (Blood Moon; ματωμÎνο φεγγάρι) knowing very well that their very strength and ‘power’ comes straight from the moon itself — Selene, their mother, first mother of all vampires that comes from this bloodline.
Royce was human once, until Cain took the blonde for himself upon selfish choice, finding something in this human that gained his attention and desire.
The past human used to be so generous, so kind, thoughtful. Until he had become damned to Plutos and Parthénos of Hades, the very thought of even trying anymore became dim before those emotions had practically vanished over the past few centuries of his immortal life he had spent with Cain.
This is when Royce’s mortal life had come to an end.
He no longer would consider himself someone moral or loving, just someone that used to care, that used to feel something before his body and heart had become ice, only ever feeling the undying hunger on a nightly basis due to the curse and blessing put upon him by Cain the night he had become the immortal being that he is now.
The memories almost vague, yet still there haunting his mind.

To never be able to feel the warmth of the sun upon his skin, to never feel the pleasure of breathing in air into his lungs, never to feel a heartbeat within his chest, to never feel the love of his family that had long perished of old age.
To be alone besides the red thread that bounds him to Cain.
Now only feeling loathing and humiliation ever since that night of the Blood Moon in which his mortal life had been stolen and sold to the Underworld.

Now that Royce is a child of Ambrogio and Selene, he now carries the very same curses that the bloodline burdens. Now unable to walk under the embrace of the sunlight, and unable to enjoy the beauty of silver upon his skin.
However, Royce is also blessed by Artemis to be a great hunter such as herself. Having god-like speed and strength, and the fangs of a predator so he may hunt.
Unfortunately… Royce must feed from the blood of the living in order to live, unlike Ambrogio or Cain — only having fangs so they may kill, not to necessarily consume blood to survive. Being a creature created under the Blood Moon, Cain didn’t expect this new curse — which would continue on with every new vampire after Royce that now roam the world today.
The start of the monsters that feed from humans for sustenance to exist and persevere...

Ever since that dreadful night, Royce has forever detested Cain with an absolute passion, having an undying loathing for his ‘creator’ of sorts for stealing his previous life away. The blonde had never asked to become the monster that he now is, now having to feed off the blood of the innocent (or not so innocent…) in order to survive. Even if he wanted to try and avoid the delectable blood of humans, it’s become rather addictive to the vampire.
This is Royce’s new life...centuries has passed since his new genesis as a vampire in this world.
Perhaps he could create a new beginning for himself…
Or maybe he’ll continue to re-live his nightmare on a nightly basis.
