"We will fulfill our part..."

“This bloodline is entirely too precious to be demolished by those that become too greedy...to those that seek power...to those that wish to take…

Given to us by our creator, we will protect the Ambrogio bloodline with our lives.

We will fulfill our part of keeping this small little family we have alive.

...And we will never allow anyone to have a taste of what we have — to raw power of the moon itself — or else all will begin to perish.

Many in this world seek to become powerful; just like narcotics - you become dependent and in need for more. Beings and creatures that roam this earth only wish to help themselves...to become more than what they already are.

We have had a taste of what it’s like to become something different.

Is it really worth it all? An endless life — immortality — for the sake of what? I implore you, please humor me. What could you possibly gain from becoming this?

You want what everyone wants.

You want a love that consumes you.

You want passion, and adventure, and maybe even a little danger.

You’ll become addicted…

You ask for us to bite down on your neck deeply, because you love it.

Don’t you know your blood is ecstasy?

The need to pull you in closer to lick every drop.

To feel the heat upon your sunkissed skin.

To touch you, to feel every inch of your warmth inside and out.

To make your heart beat faster…

To make everything heat up even more; it’s like touching the sun.

Won’t you allow us to indulge?"

Darius and Marius are two other vampires that Cain had created along with Royce; the small family being a family of four. Though they all carry the same blood of Selene and Ambrogio; their blood being potent with power of the moon.

Their power comes from Selene, their mother — she is wherever the moon shines. All vampires are under her grace, as all vampires (to some extent) are distant relatives of sorts.

Though, when Cain had created Darius and Marius, he gave them very specific instructions as to why they were created; and that was to protect his bloodline. The Ambrogio bloodline is precious to Cain...even if he were to die somehow, he wants their bloodline to continue. The Ambrogio bloodline is one of the very first created vampiric bloodlines formed.

However, it’s not only because of this that they were created…

This bloodline is precious by other means.

As mentioned before, if anyone were to get a taste of their blood, one can experience the raw power of the moon themselves (depending on dose/amount of blood taken in), which in return, could make someone greedy to have more. This can quite obviously be dangerous for Cain, Royce and the twins.

So all in all, these two act as guardians of sorts for the four.

How can they, alone, protect this bloodline? You ask…

Well, Cain had thought about this beforehand. To do so, he had created the two on the night of the ‘Black Moon”; or otherly known as “The Month without a New Moon”; instead, it will have two Full Moons. This can only happen during February, and only occurs every 20 years, give or take.

Cain selected a set of human twins, and proceeded to turn each twin on the nights of the full moons on the month of February many many years ago, shortly after creating Royce. First, was Marius, then Darius.

Just like Royce, the two were terrified and did not want this life; their mortal lives stolen from them by Cain and had little to no choice to become vampires; monsters of the night.

Though, over time, they had grown to enjoy their new powers, and given immortality; the two could be together forever for the rest of eternity, never having to fear being separated from each other.

You see, before being turned, Darius was ill and was quickly approaching death having only a few months left to his life. Cain decided that he could save the two from suffering more than they had already endured, and had taken the two against their will — to Cain, he was giving them a rare opportunity that none other would ever be able to experience. It was a gift, and he was giving never ending life. Who wouldn’t want this?

Cain had also seen great potential in the two; Marius even more so — the human male went to great lengths to protect his twin brother...and he would do just as nicely protecting his bloodline. As long as his brother was a part of it...there was no chance he’d go against him.

Basically, Darius acts as insurance to make sure of that.

If Cain were to die, then the rest of the bloodline would slowly begin to die as well.

Being born on a month with two moons means double the power; the twins are even stronger than Royce despite being created after him with slightly more diluted blood, and every night of the full moon they can even become more powerful than Cain himself.

They were made the guardians of the family bloodline...Cain wanted them to exceed even his own power; if there is ever a being out there that can subdue him, then Darius and Marius would come in handy.

“I remember that night like it was yesterday...that terror I felt in  my being was too much; I could barely hold myself up before falling to my knees. My legs had become jello, and I felt like a rag doll that fell to the cold ground.

I know my brother was ill...but was it all truly worth it all? Could we have been reunited in the afterlife? Or...was this truly the answer to everything?” — Marius

Darius was ill with a sickness called Porphyria; and during the time, there was no technology that could help replace a liver, and Darius’s liver was failing him..

It’s ironic really, that his illness was that closely related to that of a vampire, Cain thought of it as humorous.

Not only was Darius slowly dying with a failing liver, but what life was that to live? Never being able to go out into the sunlight, and having to basically live a life very similar to that of a vampire? It seems as if his life hasn’t changed at all since he’s been turned. All the better for Darius.

You see, Porphyria is called “The Vampire Disease”; a genetic disorder that forced you into a life similar to a vampire’s; having to avoid sunlight, and at times, drink blood to help with pain...somehow that would help - even doctors couldn’t explain why at the given point of time.

However, another side effect was an underlying failing liver...and many other side effects that made living absolute Hell.

“I was slowly dying. Cain had given me what Marius could not. I can finally live. I can go do things, I can see people, I’m not bedridden with that horrible pain at my core...I have been given life. Why can’t he see that…? We can finally be together forever like we had promised. I will never let that go.” — Darius

The past of these two isn’t a happy one; Darius was constantly in the hospital since birth, and their parents had abandoned them long ago — the nurses allowed Marius to live within the hospital to stay by Darius’s side. Not exactly the best place to be growing up as a human child.

To be honest, since the change in their lives, it has been a bit of an upgrade, the two have been able to experience so much more of what life has to offer since then. However, their childhood was taken away from them, never have they been able to experience that simple joy.

But now, they have a family they can call their own; and they will never allow anyone to take that away from them.

Ever since then, the two twins have watched over Royce and Cain, as they’ve been demanded to do.

However, Cain watches over them as well; what would be the point in allowing the two to die after putting so much effort into creating them?

Cain does all he can to make his bloodline a perfect one — each individual he creates will be for a reason, and he will go to great lengths to make each new member a strong ally; or else what would be the point?

There are multiple strong bloodlines out there in the world, each new clan able to take down another at any given point to take control of all vampires.

Just like with Royce and Cain, if anyone were to have a taste of either Marius’s or Darius’s blood, they will get the same effects — except it will be for both twins, not just one. Meaning whoever consumes their blood, will have strong desire for both for a time until the effects wear off (unless too much was ingested, then the effects will last permanently). And just as such, there will forever be a bond between the twins and the other.

As of late, the two had been keeping a very close eye on Royce; their dear brother had been going against the rules of the family...though...it was somehow worth it.

Royce had found himself a faerie; the very creatures that have that potent addictive blood...vampires have thought them to be extinct this whole time due to feeding on them and draining every last one of them. Centuries have passed since then, and the Fae Realm had been lost and forgotten.

Until now.

Following Royce, Darius and Marius were able to find that realm, and this will help lead them to the realm of wonders.

Fae blood allows a vampire to walk under the sunlight, and gives them unimaginable strength and healing abilities beyond their imagination. It could be the answer Cain had been looking for all this time to help his bloodline become the strongest there is.

Though, these two weren’t only meant to just keep this family alive and protected; they were also created to help make the family larger, and spread this gift to others.

To turn more humans into vampires to carry this same potent blood. The blood of the moon, Selene.

There is a war going on within this world, a war between vampires. Not that his bloodline is currently one affiliated; but that could potentially change.

The Carthic and Draconic bloodlines have been seeking allies, and his clan could be asked to join at any given point, either sooner or later.

~

One shouldn’t take that so lightly; if asked to become a part of this clan. It will be a rare occasion.
